This major offers a degree program that prepares graduates for careers in business and technology education. The program focuses on technology and educational courses along with internships and practica. This is a teacher certification program that prepares students to teach business and technology education. The program includes a core of liberal arts courses, specialized computer technology, and retail, marketing, and management courses.
Learning Outcomes

Progression Requirements and Course Work
(127 hours minimum for the major)
To remain in a degree program offered by the College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management, a student must make satisfactory academic progress toward the degree. To enroll in the professional program a student must complete 60 credit hours of course work and 14 credit hours of the education core. Students who do not meet the specific course, semester hour, and grade point average requirements for progression must continue in the preprofessional division or change to another major. An overall GPA of 2.50 with a minimum GPA of 3.00 in the education courses is required, with a C or better in all those courses. 1. General Education (40-47 Hours)
Humanities (21 Hours)
Each of the following for a total of 21 hours: Social Sciences (6 Hours)
Each of the following for a total of 6 hours: Foreign Languages (6 Hours)
Students shall demonstrate in one foreign language the ability to comprehend the topic and main ideas in written and, with the exception of Latin and Ancient Greek, spoken texts on familiar subjects. This ability can be demonstrated by achieving a score of 2 or better on a USC foreign language test. Those failing to do so must satisfactorily complete equivalent study of foreign language at USC.
